This collaborative project explores the sociocultural, psychological, and sociosexual functions of veils, garments and symbols that can make us feel ‘comfortable’ or ‘uncomfortable’ depending on our beliefs. Lack of color emphasizes contrast: modesty versus exposure, and sacred symbols of religion versus the exotic. Black and white can be interpreted as strong ideas of what is ‘right’ or ‘wrong.’ In this series, the shades of gray are where we look beyond the veil and discover through dialogue.
Originals and prints are available for purchase. Artwork available for movie rentals in the Atlanta area.
